AKA: a denture or plate. It is an appliance which the patient is able to remove which replaces all of the teeth of an arch. It is supported by the soft tissues of the arch and does not use any teeth to hold it in place because all of the teeth are missing. Implants can be used as anchors to support and stabilize a removable denture. These are known as implant supported overdentures.
