A denture fixed or removable which replaces all of a patients teeth. It used for patients who have lost all of their teeth.
Composite
A tooth colored resin material used for fillings. They contain silica or porcelain to make them stronger.
Composite Filling
Tooth colored filling materials. They are also called resin fillings or bondings.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
A type of CAT scan used in dentistry which uses a cone shaped x-ray beam to acquire the images which results in significantly lower radiation exposure than traditional medical grade CAT scans.
Connective Tissue
The tissues which make up the structural aspects of the body. Skin, bone, cartilage, and dermis are all types of connective tissue.
Connective Tissue Attachment
Generally it can mean any connection between two tissues, such as bone to bone. In Dentistry it primarily refers to the attachment of the attached gingiva (gum tissue) to a tooth.
Connective Tissue Graft
A type of soft tissue graft (autogenous transplant) usually harvested from the roof of the mouth which is made of soft connective tissue.
Contouring
The process of reshaping teeth or restorations.

A directional term which indicates toward the crown of the tooth. It is the opposite of apical.
