An indirect filling which is cemented inside the tooth. They may be made out of porcelain, resin or gold and differ from a traditional filling in that they are not made and placed in the mouth at the time of caries removal. After the caries are removed and impression on the prepared cavity is made, the restoration is made in the lab from the impression and then cemented into the tooth at a later appointment.
