Aggressive Periodontal Disease

QUESTION:

I have aggressive periodontal disease. My upper right quad is gone! no teeth, no bone! It is moving across my mouth to the next tooth, I can feel it.  Is there any hope for me? Can any antibiotics help me? Please

ANSWER:

Aggressive periodontal disease is an infection of your gums and underlying jaw bone which can cause you to loose all of your teeth. You need to see a periodontist as soon as possible in the hope of saving as many of your remaining teeth as possible. Antibiotics may be helpful in treating your gum infection but are not effective without the mechanical removal of the infecting bacteria and plaque. Said another way antibiotics alone will not help you save your teeth.

Hope this helps,
Good Luck.
