Cavities caused by repeated exposure during the night to the sugary substances in breast milk, juices and regular milk. It occurs when children are give bottles with milk or juice in them at night to sooth themselves. The repeated exposure to milk or juice during the night as the child takes a sip every half hour or so, continually bathes the teeth in sugar. This allows the bacteria, which cause cavities, to overgrow and cause decay.
